Gastroenterology

Gastroenterology is the medical specialty concerned with disorders and conditions of the digestive system. This system includes the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines (colon), pancreas and liver. At BVMA, our gastroenterologists provide a full range of diagnostic, consultative and procedural services for patients with gastrointestinal disease. These diseases include colorectal cancer (screening and prevention), gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, diarrhea/constipation and hepatitis. They provide a number of procedures such as colonoscopies, endoscopies and liver biopsies in association with the Findlay Surgery Center and Blanchard Valley Hospital.


 

 


Robert L. Heacock, M.D. earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and his Doctor of Medicine Degree from The Ohio State University. Dr. Heacock completed an internship in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Duke Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, and began practicing at Blanchard Valley Medical Associates in July of 1982.

Randal E. Huff, M.D., Ph.D. earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Bowling Green State University, and Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Doctor of Medicine Degree from Case Western Reserve University. He then completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine, and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where he also served as Assistant Medical Director for Medical Records. Dr. Huff is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, and has practiced at BVMA since July of 1995.
