Protecting Your Health Information
In 2001, the federal government enacted the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act. The HIPAA Privacy Rule provides federal protections for personal health information held by covered entities and gives patients an array of rights with respect to that information. At the same time, the Privacy Rule is balanced so that it permits the disclosure of personal health information needed for patient care and other important purposes. For more information about the HIPAA Privacy Rule, visit the US Department of Health and Human Services website.
At BVMA, protecting your health information is of paramount concern. We expect every member of our team to fully comply with our stringent policy on protecting your information, so you can rest easy knowing your information is safe with us. Click here to view our Notice of Privacy Practices.
