Prescription Management Information

nurse on computer image_shutterstockBVMA utilizes a Web-based electronic prescription system that allows our office to keep an accurate, up-to-date medication list, send prescriptions to your pharmacy, and refill medications; all at the touch of a button. At the time of your visit, most medications prescribed by your physician can be entered into our electronic prescription system and sent directly to the pharmacy.

At Your Visit
Please be sure to bring all of your medication bottles with you to each appointment. This will help us make sure that your medication list is accurate and up-to-date. Your preferred pharmacy information will be stored in our system, and prescriptions written at the time of your visit will be sent to this pharmacy automatically. If you change pharmacies, please be sure to let the nurse know at the time of your visit so this information can be updated and we can ensure that your prescriptions are sent to the right place.

Prescription Refills

If you need medications refilled, please let the nurse know so these can be cared for at the time of your visit. If between appointments you find that you need a prescription refilled, call your pharmacy and let them know what you need refilled. They will send the refill request electronically to your doctor, who in turn will verify your prescription and sign off electronically. This allows us to care for your refill request efficiently so we can meet your needs as quickly as possible.

If you have any questions regarding your prescriptions, please contact your doctor's secretary. The secretary can readily access your prescription information and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
